  1. Mr. Tharp stated that next year, the deadline to receive entries will be extended to the Friday prior to the district meet.  Also, some type of system will be put into place for coaches to receive confirmation that their entries have been received by the respective district host. 
  2. Review 2011 State Swimming Meet.  Assistant Executive Director Tharp shared with the committee the commitment that the IHSAA has through the 2012 state swim meet in Marshalltown.  The IHSAA is open to discussions with any venue seeking interest in hosting our events.  Mr. Tharp stated that the Iowa Swim Coaches Association can write a letter recommending a particular site, however, it is the business of the IHSAA to determine the site of all post season venues, including the state swim meet.  
  3. Review Swimming Rules’ Meetings For 2011.  All swimming and diving rules meetings will be conducted on-line.  There will be no on-site meetings.  The IHSAA and IGHSAU are willing to present a rules meeting at the coach’s clinic held in early August. 
  4. Other Items Discussed: 1) The advisory committee would like the administration to visit a state that has a prelim/final format for the finals and share its observations with fellow administrators and the Board of Control; 2) state/district swim meet break recommendations for use of the lanes; 3) Discussion from advisory committee regarding officials chosen for district and state meet. Mr. Tharp stated that each swimming school has the opportunity to recommend three officials to work the post season for the following year. Mr. Tharp shared with the committee it is the business of the IHSAA to determine post season officials assignments based on recommendations from member schools. 4) Mr. Tharp informed the advisory committee that Mr. Legg and Mr. Chizek would be their new contacts regarding the sport of swimming for the IHSAA.
