2008 IHSSCA Fall Clinic Wrap-Up

Our fall clinic “Coaches Working Together” was a good success. Ten coaches enjoyed the golf outing at the American Legion course in Marshalltown. The golf outing is always a good time for those that swing a club. We’d like more coaches to consider the outing next year. You don’t have to be a golfer to come out and take some swings…

Friday evening we enjoyed dinner at the Best Western Inn. We had nearly 60 coaches in attendance for the Rules Meeting and IHSSCA Business Meeting. We then enjoyed a great time at our social in the Junction Lounge located in the hotel. The social was highlighted by over 20 coaches yelling and cheering as Michael Phelps won his seventh gold medal in that exciting butterfly race! Imagine that many swim coaches collectively cheering...the other patrons were amazed!

On Saturday four coaches presented ideas and information to share with coaches. 37 coaches listened to Chris Cruise (CR Washington) discuss workout structure and share training sets, Don Bear (CR Washington) present information on diving, Dana Peiffer (Cedar Falls) presented on NISCA, and Mike Loupee (Marshalltown) discussed service projects and team building. We had very good discussion and great ideas were exchanged.
